Lets get ready for the New Year 

The Blogger Girls have collaborated once again.  This time we have made a set to help you celebrate the New Year. I will include links to everyone's site to help you with downloading.

There is an exciting new BerryWeather from Hamsterwheel that you can read the weather condition during your night of celebrations. You can find the download on her Keep Calm and Berry On blog.

On the its a berry sweet life blog, where you can always find wonderful wallpapers, Wendy has made several coordinating wallpapers like the one I have used below for the New Year blogger girl set.

We also have a special contribution of coordinating wallpapers from JayDee, our Rambling Queen from the CrackBerry forum. you can find her wallpapers posted on the Keep Calm and Berry On blog too.

I made the  BatteryEx icon set which begins with a full glass of Champagne and as the night progresses and your battery level begins to deplete so does the level of Champagne in your glass.  Hopefully you will be safe at home when the coffee cup appears!  You will be able to download glasses edged in black or white to coordinate with either a light or dark wallpaper.

Christmas Day Movie Tradition

The Christmas Day movie tradition! If you stay home and snuggle on the couch or all pile into the car and go to the theater, watching a movie together on Christmas is a wonderful tradition.

 When the movie is over you will get to enjoy round two of one of the best dinners all year long.  Having leftovers of turkey and ham with all the side dishes along with homemade pumpkin pie with mounds of whipped cream it's a meal that is hard to beat.  As the day slowly turns into night and the sounds of a crackling fire and the feel of comfy slippers on our feet, we realize that its family and friends sharing the day by phone calls and pictures or sharing a meal together that make the day so special.

I made a battery icon set of the cute little characters of the past that encouraged movie patrons to "Let's all go to the lobby to get ourselves a treat" and a BerryWeather with a movie projector inset. I also posted two new movie wallpapers too.

Peppermint Candy

The Blogger Girls have come together to create a peppermint surprise for your BlackBerry!  Even though the three of us live thousands of miles apart we have managed to find a few minutes to feverishly send each other messages through BBM to collaborate on a very fun project.

Christmas

It's here! Its the season! Get a moving, time is wasting. There are Christmas trees to decorate, presents to buy, cards to write, and the list goes on and on! 
The Thanksgiving decorations are stowed for another year and the boxes of Christmas decorations seem to come from every possible storage area just waiting 
                                      to be displayed.

As with so many holidays, Christmas at our house has its traditions too. One of the highlights seems to be decorating gingerbread houses. What began with two families had now grown to include our children's spouses and grandchildren. Everyone brings candy and their secret blueprints to decorate their special prefab house.  When they are finished they are dusted with powdered sugar snow and pictures are taken.

When the holidays gets you just a little too frazzled don't forget to take a step back and take  moments all in, the good ones and the not so good ones.  From the smiles on the littlest of faces, frosting all over the counters, too many parts leftover from assembling the bike, and who is coming to visit?

Trace Adkins song says it perfectly. "You're gonna miss this / you're gonna want this back / you're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast."

We may not have the Christmas shopping done, the cards written, or the outfits purchased, but it's so easy to have your BlackBerry looking in the holiday spirit even if we aren't quite there yet.

Thanksgiving

I can almost smell the wonderful aroma of a turkey in the oven; hearing the laughter of little kids, the sound of the front door opening to the big kids coming home, and the hug from Grandpa that makes the world right again.

Thanksgiving is family, friends, football, turkey, smoke alarms, the guys standing outside watching the deep fryer, the pies-oh the pies, and last but not least the best turkey sandwiches ever.

Our families tried a few years ago to take turns going around the table to express what we are thankful for which had most of us trying to use our dinner napkins as tissues.  I want to try that again and I don't care if we all cry. They are all groaning now.

Let's take just a little time out of our overly committed days to be more thankful for our health, cherish our loved ones, celebrate new friends, and look to....     Oh no! How many days before Christmas???

Veterans Day

November is a busy month! Halloween decorations have been put away, our political yard signs stowed, and preparations are underway for Thanksgiving. Let's all take a moment to pause and reflect on our Veterans.  November 11th is Veterans Day; a day intended to honor and give thanks to all Veterans of military service. Because of their service and sacrifice we feel safer and more secure in an unsafe world.  Our lives are so busy we sometimes overlook the things that we take for granted.
Thank you to all Veterans for your dedication and honorable service to our country.

Election Day

Tuesday November 6^th is Election Day!

Phones are ringing with last minute efforts by candidates and proposition proponents. I have to agree with the little girl in the viral video…I’m tired of all of this. But wait, our Blackberries need to be ready!
